Monday 20th July

Good morning Year 5! I hope you had a lovely weekend.

All of your work is on OneNote for today.

In maths, I would like you to concentrate on your times tables.

In English, write thank you letters to your grown-ups who have helped you with your learning over lock down.

Friday 17th July

All of your work is on OneNote for today.

In maths, it is your time tables day. The last one of Year 5, so make it count! Make sure you have a practise of all of your times tables first so that they are fresh in your head when you start that timer!

In English, today is your day for editing and improving your chronological report of your time in Year 5. I cannot wait to see the final pieces!

In PaG, choose some more of the ear 5/6 spellings to write a sentence about. Really challenge yourself by writing complex sentences.

Have a lovely weekend. There will still be work for you on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Thursday 16th July

All of your work is on OneNote for today.

In maths, start preparing for your final TTRS times tables test tomorrow. Use your maths time today to practise your times tables to ensure that tomorrow is your best result of the year!

In English, you should be getting to the end of your chronological report about Year 5, which will allow you to edit and improve in your time tomorrow.

Continue with your spellings, writing sentences for each one as you go.

Wednesday 15th July

All of your work is on OneNote.

In maths, see if you can write some word problems which include calculations with money.

In English, continue with your writing about your time in Year 5. I am really enjoying what I have read so far and what you remember!

Continue working on your Year 5/6 spellings too, it would be great if you were confident with these before going into Year 6!

Tuesday 14th July

All of your work is on OneNote for today.

In maths, I would like you to continue to work with money and working out change today. Can you combine buying multiple items and the change that you would need from the nearest note?

In English, I would like you to continue with your recount, which you are writing all this week.

Continue practising your spellings and putting them into sentences. Try to make your sentences as complex as you can.

Monday 13th July

Hello Year 5, it is lovely to have you back!

All of your work is on OneNote for today.

In maths today, I would like you to focus on money. See if you can find some coins around your house (make sure you ask your grown-ips before taking them) and use them to create some different calculations. Can you set up a shop where you have to give change to the other people in your house?

In English, I would like you to spend time over the week writing a chronological report of your time in Year 5. Try to include all of the trips and learning that we have done.

Focus on the Year 5/6 spellings this week. Make sure that you can read them all and understand their meaning. Then focus on making sure you can spell them by looking at  5-10 words a day. Can you write them in a sentence?
